Airlines Medical Directors Association :: George J. Kidera Award

Since 1963, AMDA has provided recognition for individuals who have made outstanding achievements in the field of aviation medicine. The award is presented to one or more recipients at the annual meeting.

In 2001, the name of the Award was changed to the George J. Kidera Award, in recognition for Dr. Kidera's 40 years of contributions to airline medicine while Corporate Medical Director of United Airlines, and his even longer years of service to AMDA, from his joining in 1947 until his death in 2000.
